 Mirik is a beautiful place which is located in the serene hills of Darjeeling district of west bengal. When my brother told me about that place I was so excited to visit Mirik. On 23rd of October 2022, I started my journey from kurseong to mirik along with my cousins. It was almost 10:30Am when we left for Mirik and we travelled by a car. Our journey was so beautiful with a bright day and fresh road with classy tea garden views  though on the journey to Mirik we came across thick fogs but we proceeded it lights on and I enjoyed that journey a lot by singing bollywood songs, eating and enjoying beautiful view and we finally reached mirik and there one uncle told us about the mirik that comes from a lepcha word Mir-Yok meaning "place burnt by fire" I was too curious to know the history of mirik but that uncle was in hurry and left. At the mid-summer in the town of palampur where the family recently shifted.   Seena, the mother who use to look after the family economically as well as being housemaker. I was fourteen then and it was mid-August.I was so excited for the band program for which I had been practicing hard since three months.  One evening when I was watching TV with my mom, I suddenly felt a slight pain in my head and it started getting worse. I told my mom the pain was sever and then I was taken to the hospital. I was diagnosed with dengue, I was asked to be admitted in the hospital for six days.  My program was on next day and I was totally devasted because I had worked so hard for that program.I couldn't peform because of my health, and after that I promised myself that I would never touch bagpiper and flute for a whole year. 

 My oak tree wears a bird house, Like a locket on his limbs. He loves to hold the birds, They always sings to him.   He sways in time to the songs of the sky, He imagines travelling  over the  land. But he is rooted to the earth, For an oak tree must forever stand.   Birds sing worldly melodies, As long as  he is lightless.
